Staying Safe on Firewalker

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Firewalker helps you connect with real people near you. Most interactions are positive, but no online platform can guarantee everyone's intentions. A few habits go a long way toward keeping yourself safe, online and in person.

In an emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. Firewalker is not a substitute for the police, a crisis line, or medical help, and we can't respond to emergencies.

1. Meeting someone in person

  • Meet in public. Choose a busy, public place for a first meeting, and stay in public.
  • Tell someone. Let a friend or family member know where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back.
  • Arrange your own transport. Get yourself there and back so you can leave whenever you want.
  • Take your time. There's no rush to move off-platform, share your address, or meet somewhere private.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off, you don't owe anyone an explanation. Leave.

2. Protect your money and information

  • Never send money. No matter the story, don't send money, gift cards, or crypto to someone you met here. Requests for money are the number-one sign of a scam.
  • Keep financial details private. Don't share bank, card, or account information, and don't accept "investment" or money-making offers.
  • Guard your identity. Be careful with your full name, home or work address, daily routine, and government ID until you genuinely trust someone.
  • Keep conversations on Firewalker. Scammers often try to move you to another app quickly. Staying in-app helps you report and block if things go wrong.

3. Use the tools we give you

You're in control of who can reach you. Anywhere you see a profile, message, or piece of content, you can:

  • Block someone so they can no longer message you or view your profile.
  • Report a profile, message, or behavior that breaks our Community Guidelines. Reports are confidential.
  • Decline message requests from people you're not connected with.

4. Watch for warning signs

Be cautious if someone:

  • Asks for money, financial help, or gifts.
  • Pitches an investment or money-making opportunity.
  • Professes strong feelings unusually fast or seems too good to be true.
  • Pushes to move to another app or platform right away.
  • Won't video chat or meet in a public place.
  • Pressures you for personal, intimate, or financial information.
  • Gives a story that keeps changing or doesn't add up.

5. What Firewalker does and doesn't do

We work to keep the community safe through our Community Guidelines, reporting and blocking tools, and moderation. But please understand:

  • We do not conduct criminal background checks on members.
  • We cannot verify every member's identity, intentions, background, or offline behavior.
  • You are responsible for your own interactions, online and in person.

Taking the precautions on this page is the best way to protect yourself.

6. Report a concern

The fastest way to flag someone is the in-app report and block tools on their profile or message. For anything you can't resolve in the app (or to reach a person on our team), use the Help & Support page.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
